New show should be coming soon… I admit I’m having a hard time deciding if all the work is worth it… thank you to everybody who has stayed with the show. Someone call the hotline and give me a voicemail to play… please?

As I mentioned yesterday, this past week I have been in “maintain” mode. I went off my usual lunch and dinners several times with both a frozen pizza, eating out at a local restaurant, a major-burrito (another restaurant) and a giant rice krispy bar, just to name a few. With last week being the last week of performances for the play, I didn’t have time to do much of anything else but the play, and getting out to exercise was not an option.
So, the official weigh-in for Week Four is: 216.4
Which is a gain of about .6, which I still consider a success. Yesterday was 215.2, so I think I’m just in the heavy cycle anyway, and tomorrow I will be back down.
This next week starts another round of exercise and loss. According to my fit day profile, there is only 9 1/2 weeks until the renaissance festival, and I still need to average about 2.65 lbs per week to hit 190 in that time. I am getting a bit discouraged that it won’t happen, but even if I only hit 200, that will be a huge improvement.
In the minor victory department…. I had to buy a new belt last week, as well as new black jeans for work. In addition, my company polo shirt that never fit (size L) finally fit yesterday, as did several t-shirts I had put in the corner of the closet for when I lost weight. Over the past 4-5 years I have fluctuated from a size 36 waist, to at one point a 33 (relaxed fit of course LOL) and am currently back down to about a 34.
Not bad. I think in High School, even at 150-160 lbs I was only a 32, so I don’t anticipate going much further in actual waist size. I know where the weight is that needs to come off, it is targeting those areas that is the pain. And unlike others, right now I don’t want to put muscle back on, right now it’s just weight loss, not muscle gain.
Small victories.

My goal for the past week was not to continue to lose (since I was too busy to exercise) but to maintain. I don’t want to speak too soon since the weigh in is tomorrow, but I think I did just that. Also, I had another small milestone – not looking at the scale every morning. A few days I would look at the scale and see a sudden jump, so freak out, and then the next day it was where it was supposed to be. So now it is about… every other day.
I only have 9 weeks until September (scary, isn’t it?) and so I need to kick it into gear. So tonight… IM about to go for a walk. Talk to you later!

While I was hoping to more than solidify my next milestone, I did have a good weigh-in this morning.
215.8
Which is about 9.2 lbs since we started this crazy thing 3 weeks ago.
Only25.8 to go and 10 weeks to get there.
10 WEEKS?!?!?!

One of the challenges in living in an apartment of any size is the lack of storage space. I have helped someone clean their house, and their basement is literally filled with 100 or so “tubs” of stuff they put in them just to get them out of the other rooms. No such luxury in most apartments. I do have 3 “tubs” all but one are empty, and they are stuck in the closet.
I have computer and electronics stuff in the linen clost, sheets and linens in the laundry “room” shelves, old Boy Scout badges in mini-tubs in the kitchen cabinets, camping gear in the kitchen drawer, 3 ring binders in the linen closet, video tapes in the laundry room cabionet (just the right size), tools in just about every closet and drawer, paper and stationery in the bedroom closet, etc. etc.
Tonight I went through and cleaned up a lot, and threw out a lot. The linen closet is almost reclaimed for its intended purpose. I threw away a bunch of videotapes since I never record anything anyway. I also threw away a bunch of “mailing supplies” such as priority mail cardboard mailers and sizes of padded mailers I bought but never used. I threw all of the computer misc. parts into one foot locker, and reclaimed my kitchen cabinets.
I still have a lot to do, but its getting there.

The week 3 weigh in of the-diet happens on Tuesday. I don’t want to jinx it, but I may reach another milestone by then. Very close… very close.
For those wondering what the heck I’m talking about, I will have a more detailed blog entry soon. The short of it is… a bunch of bloggers and computer afficianados (sp?) are going on a group diet, and we just got a corporate sponsorship from The Diet Channel. Fun! Prizes! and best of all – losing weight!
