The multi-track recorder I used went to schizzle when all was said and done, so I had to split it up into 4 pieces – but it’s all good, except for a small piece that overlaps when I start rambling about Whiz Kids. Enjoy!

Ok, enough with the urban talk…

The first ever Rutter’s Rambling Podcast has now been posted. Yes, you can hear me in MP3 format serenading you with entertainment, pop culture and politics. Yay! I do have to warn you though, some of the issues I discuss get pretty heated…

in this week’s show I debate the separation of church and state with myself, relive the 80s with the TV show “Whiz Kids,” introduce you to a few new podcasts I enjoy, and catch you up to date with Brad Renfro’s legal woes.

Here’s the official podcast URL:

and the feed URL for iTunes is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/RuttersRamblingsPodcast

I know for some of you, its the first time “hearing” me – so I hope I meet your expectations and all that. If not, oh well – your loss!

Enjoy!

Another weekend has passed and I actually got a lot done. The apartment was cleaned after a phone call from my mom saying she might be coming over (but never did) and laundry was done, dishes washed and I even went through some of my old filing cabinet stuff and threw out and organized. Yee haw. Oh yeah, I also swept the leaves out of the garage. Yep, big time fun.

I didn’t like what the scale said today so I didn’t record it. You might remember the last entry when I said I didn’t quite believe it, well not I don’t believe it even more. It said it went back up to 219. So, we’ll see what happened tomorrow, and then I’ll have to record it. It’s actually easier to control what I eat at work, instead of vice versa – which is contrary to what I had thought.

I took back a 30 gallon bag of cans to the grocery store yesterday. I have decided to give up pop/soda at home. I’ll probably still drink some at work (diet) but the hassle of returning the damn cans is getting to me. They have the automatic things that suck em in at the grocery store, buthalf the time they start beeping at you and spitting them back out. Then you get the people who bring in 5 carts (even though you are only supposed to bring in $10 a day) and give you the evil eye as they watch you put your cans in. No thanks.

Im growing a moustache for the play in February. I was going to make it a goatee until then, but I decided to do something different and make it a little more interesting. it’s kind of a “fantasy” type moustache where its the moustache and then a little sliver on the chin… type of a renassiance thing. I guess it looks kind of like something you might find in Pirates of the Carribean … the movie.

Speaking of renaissance…

Im tired of always having the lamest garb when it comes to renaissance faires, so I might buy something like this Robin of Loklsey Gambeson. Having something that actually looks good will be very much appreciated. Who knows, I might have to get the whole outfit! Wonder if you can buy the hair too…

Anyway, its late and Im going to try and get in another game of Starcraft. Until tomorrow -

If I am to believe my new digital scale, and I have no reason not to, week one resulted in a loss of 6-7 lbs. While that is POSSIBLE, it remains highly unlikely. #1, that is pretty excessive and definitely not healthy and #2 – I really don’t feel like I’ve lost that much. Until the stupid thing reads in the low 200’s or below, I don’t think I will belive it fully.

Fit Day Profile Link since the old one is about to scroll off the page.

Every night when I come home from work I’ve been playing some StarCraft Brood War against the computer. I’m up to 2 (me and the computer) verses three (3 computer played players) and Im winning about 90% of the time. The computer likes to rush as soon as they can build any troops, which is kind of annoying. I’ve been playing Zerg to get my zerg strategies up – because I like the word Zerg. Heh.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, there just hasn’t been too much to say. We have started rehearsals for Arsenix & Old Lace, and things are going fine. It’s a bit frustrating because in my mind we are still blocking scenes (which we are) but the directors want me to still be “presidential.” It’s hard doing a part when you are writing the stage directions down and don’t know your lines. usually that comes once you are off-book. Oh well.

After gaining a pound back (according to the scale anyway) I have gone back down almost 2 lbs since yesterday, which I don’t think is possible but I’ll take it. Not eating out every night has also managed to keep my bank account from losing weight too. Ha ha ha. But seriously, it’s all good. The “target weight” I put into the thing is pretty much just a dream at 175lbs. To make that I would need to lose 3.65 lbs a week until March 1st. Not totally undo-able. But man, that’s a lot of work. I don’t think I have been under 190 since right after high school. I gained a lot of weight fast when I coached at Johnny Orr’s Basketball Camp in college – dorm food and pizza everynight was not a good combination. I figure it I can hit 190 by February I’d be happy, but I’m going to keep the goal of 175 by March – just to see how close I can get. :)

Now that I’ve totally bored you…

We’re supposed to have a heat wave today. Currently it’s -11but it’s supposed to get up to 21! woo hoo! And then a balmy 34 degrees tomorrow and 33 Sunday. Might have to break out the t-shirt and shorts.

Ok, so I’m a relative newcomer to podcasting, probably because I’m not exactly the biggest Apple/Mac fan, and the mere fact of doing something that is prefaced by an “i” and suffixed by a “pod” just wasn’t very appealing to me. But after listening to the Pirate Comedy Show Podcasts, I broke down and downloaded Quicktime and the iTunes player, which lets me subscribe to feeds.

Ive found a few interesting podcasts, one of which happens to be JustJoshing.org. Josh is is a 8th grader who does an interesting podcast. Way way back when I lived in LA, I helped an acquaintance do an internet radio show called “radioactive kids” and Josh’s podcast reminds me a lot of the “Radioactive Kids” project. His podcasts are very well produced, and who knew an 8th grader knew what pontificate means. Keep up the great work, Josh!

I ordered my own mixer today, and yes I have a podcast out there… its just getting started so I’m not going to reveal it to the masses yet. But it has opened up a whole new hobby and I hope it stays as fun as the last week has been.

I had nothing to do tonight. No really, nothing. Nada. Nunca. Nein.

And it was good.

The next couple of months will be full of rehearsals and performances, the occassional weekend for other things, and general craziness until March. On the plus side, at least winter will go by fast. On the negative side, I really only had one month of no obligations, since the play was over in late September, and NaNoWriMo was in November.

I do seem to have most Friday nights off, and Sundays off, and most nights are only for an hour or two.

CHARRRRRRRRRRRRRGE!
